Exclusive Leaks Unveil Bold New Look and Upgrades for 2025 Tesla Model Y!
Leaked images have revealed an exciting transformation for the 2025 Tesla Model Y, showcasing both significant exterior and interior updates for the popular battery-electric mid-size SUV. Known internally as Project Juniper, the new design features a striking full-width LED light bar with the "TESLA" logo and a newly positioned rear camera located above the letter 'E'. The rear also includes major sheet metal changes, indicating a more dramatic redesign compared to the recently updated 2024 Tesla Model 3, which underwent changes under the Project Highland codename.
Interior shots reveal a host of updates, including a refreshed door card, an ambient light strip, a button door release, and a revised dashboard. The presence of loose wiring suggests that these images come from a pre-production prototype or engineering development mule.
To maintain a consistent design language with the Model 3, the updated Model Y is expected to adopt the sedan’s sleek headlights and a redesigned front bumper. Inside, enhancements will likely include new front seats and a modernized steering wheel with additional buttons, replacing the traditional indicator stalks.
In terms of powertrains, the Model Y will mirror the upgrades seen in the refreshed Model 3. The base rear-drive Model Y will feature an approximate 210kW electric motor and deliver around 500km of range per charge. The Long Range version will boost power to nearly 370kW and offer a higher-density battery for over 600km of range. The top-of-the-line Model Y Performance will provide around 375kW and accelerate from 0-100km/h in under 4.0 seconds.
While Tesla has not yet confirmed an official launch date, the updated Model Y is expected to make its debut in Australia during the first half of 2025.
