Ferrari 812 Superfast Limited Edition Model To Debut Next Month With More Power
Ferrari has decided to introduce a limited-edition model for the 812 Superfast that will be a little speedier than the regular model. Reportedly named Versione Speciale, it will be brawnier, revs greater, and appears even more spectacular than the standard 812 Superfast. The automaker will unveil the V-12 grand tourer on its social media platforms on May 5 at 8:30 a.m. ET.
While the new Ferrari 812 Superfast Limited Edition will have the same naturally aspirated 6.5-litre V-12 as accessible in the standard model, it will pump out 819 ponies. It is 30 hp extra than the regular model’s 789 hp, revving all the way to 9500 rpm.
As per a C&D test in 2018, the 812 V-12, redlined at 9000 rpm, zoomed from zero to 60 mph in 2.7 seconds. This rear-wheel-drive model was using a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
The new 812 Superfast models will use the seventh version of Ferrari's Side Slip Control (SSC) traction and stability control system. Like the base 812 Superfast, they fit in rear-axle steering. Ferrari’s extensive use of carbon fibre helps the limited-edition models to shed some weight. There is also an exclusive aero kit employing vortex generators. It will increase downforce and make it appear wilder.
The interior of the new Ferrari 812 Superfast Limited-Edition model will be identical to the standard 812 with some slight differences. Expect the door panels to be lighter and usual carbon fibre at multiple places inside.
We do not know the colour combinations Ferrari will offer for the limited-edition models, nor did we hear about the planned units. Stay tuned as we bring you more details next month after the Limited Edition 812 debuts.
