Genesis G70 Shooting Is A Modish Wagon Spawned From G70 Sedan
Genesis recently shared their plans to start operations in Europe, making available the G80 and GV80 first followed by the G70 and GV70. However, a new luxury vehicle will also be a part of the lineup. Introducing the Genesis G70 Shooting Brake, a gorgeous wagon version of the G70 sedan, seeking to dominate the segment ruled by the Mercedes C-Class Estate, BMW 3 Series Touring, and the Audi A4 Avant.
While it has wagon body style, it keeps the size of its sedan sibling, measuring 4,685 millimetres (184.4 inches) long, 1,850 mm (72.8 in) wide, and 1,400 mm (55.1 in) tall. The wheelbase remains at 2,835 mm (111.6 in).
While the footprint stays the same, the body structure had made way for designers to add 40 per cent to the cargo area. A 40:20:40 split-folding rear bench makes it convenient to fit extra luggage.
Talking about the design of the Genesis G70 Shooting Brake, it is pretty much identical to the facelifted sedan, revealed in its home market in September last year. The company’s Two Lines signature styling is there to give it a stunning appearance and making it prominent among its German rivals.
Genesis didn’t disclose the technical specs of the wagon; however, we believe they will be the same as the sedan. The pictures released show the wagon featuring the 2.0L Turbo engine and AWD layout. We are not sure if the Shooting Brake will come with a rear-wheel drive and the more potent 3.3L V6 engine.
Sadly, Genesis plans to offer the G70 wagon in Europe only at the start along with the newly revealed Electrified G80 and a couple of other EVs. While it may not come to the U.S., we hope to see it in Australia soon.
