GMC has finally unveiled the SUV model of the Hummer electric pickup truck, which will go on sale in 2023 as a 2024 model. While it will be shorter and less powerful than its pickup counterpart, it has all the dominant features we love. The Hummer EV SUV comes with 35-inch tires, protruding fenders, and an optional air suspension allowing it to raise itself to six inches.

Comparing it to other similar electric SUVs, it is bigger than the Jeep Wrangler and the Ford Bronco and is more expensive of the two. There will be plenty of space inside to carry luggage; 82 cubic feet to be precise with rear seats down. GMC won’t introduce the more affordable models until 2024, so what we get at the start will be the fully loaded Edition 1 starting at $105,595.

Talking about the standard features, all the Hummer EV SUVs will have four-wheel steering with CrabWalk, the air suspension, and 22-inch wheels with 35-inch Goodyear all-terrain tires except the entry-level $79,995 model. GM's Super Cruise self-driving tech will be a standard affair though.

The first-arriving Edition 1 will come with a three-motor set up – one on the front and two at the back – to generate 830 horsepower, which is 170 hp less than the Hummer pickup truck. It is still superfast launching the SUV from 0 to 96 km/h in only 3.5 seconds. While GMC didn’t specify the battery pack options, they did claim 300 miles of range on a single charge for Edition 1 and 250 miles of range for the entry-level 625 horsepower model.

Other salient features include removable roof panels, which drivers can save in the front trunk, a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster, a 13.4-inch touchscreen, a new trail mapping facility using the myGMC map, and an optional Power Station generator.

The 2024 GMC Hummer EV SUV will be accessible in four variants in the start costing $79,995, $89,995, $99,995, and $105,595 for the Hummer EV2, Hummer EV2X, Hummer EV3X, and Edition 1 respectively.
