Hyundai Reveals Key Details of Santa Cruz Pickup Truck

Hyundai’s first pickup truck, the Santa Cruz, will hit the roads this summer with some exciting features, the details of which are just revealed. The truck will be available in four variants with two powerplant choices and six exterior shades. Although the company failed to mention the price, thanks to Hyundai's online configurator, we know what the four trims - SE, SEL, SEL Premium, and Limited – will get.

The SE and SEL are standard front-wheel-drive variants receiving power from a naturally aspirated 2.5-liter inline-four engine good for 190-plus horsepower. The engine pairs with an eight-speed automatic transmission and can tow 3500 pounds with a 1748-pound payload rating. The SE comes with an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system. On the other hand, the SEL is better-equipped thanks to the addition of proximity-key entry, heated front seats, a power driver's seat, and blind-spot monitoring. Customers can also have it in all-wheel-drive for extra money.

Those looking for extra power can opt for the SEL Premium and Limited variants featuring a turbocharged 2.5-litre inline-four generating 275-plus horsepower, allowing the truck to tow up to 5000 pounds. The mill pairs with an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, and customers can have it in either standard front-wheel or optional all-wheel.

The standard facilities in the SEL Premium consist of LED headlights and automatic climate control, while the Limited is better equipped with a quality audio system, a 10.3-inch infotainment screen, and cooled front seats.

Hyundai is offering the Santa Cruz in Ice White, Phantom Black, Hampton Grey, Sage Gray, Blue Stone, and Desert Sand.

Customers can book the 2022 Hyundai Santa Cruz online with a $100 deposit. Details about pricing and EPA fuel-economy figures will come later.
