Jeep has announced the debut of the Wrangler EV concept this spring. The automaker has also teased this all-electric SUV at the "The Road Ahead", giving us some idea of its design elements. Gladly, the EV version keeps the Wrangler's iconic looks, though it has to accommodate an entirely different powertrain.

Fans will be able to marvel at the Wrangler EV concept during the Easter Jeep Safari by the end of March or early April. We hope the company will start its development before the end of this year or at the start of next year.

Seeing another Jeep Wrangler EV picture, we find the SUV will feature a single motor instead of a dual-motor setup we find in most AWD electric vehicles. We believe there will be 3 to 4 battery modules and like the regular Wrangler and the plug-in-hybrid Wrangler 4xe, the EV will boast a body-on-frame design.

Other things we can get from the teaser are blue tow hooks in front and likely a distinct lighting pattern to differentiate it from its colleagues. Unfortunately, we didn’t hear anything about EV’s battery capacity, power output, or range. Jeep bragged many things before the launch of plug-in-hybrid 4xe model, so we hope the same kind of claims for the Wrangler EV as well.

More details will surface as Jeep officially introduces the concept model this Spring. Stay tuned for updates!
