The 2022 Audi e-Tron GT is finally here featuring segment-best looking design and lots of EV-focused features. Audi head of design Marc Lichte even said it is his best creation and we agree.

e-Tron

The 2022 Audi e-Tron GT is the third all-electric offering from the German automaker after e-Tron and e-Tron Sportback. The performance sedan is 198 inches long, 77 inches wide, and 55 inches tall, landing it in the territory of the 2021 BMW 8-series, Tesla Model S, and lastly the vehicle it is based on – the Taycan.

The four-door Gran Turismo boasts the all-wheel-drive Quattro as well as many other facilities we find in the Taycan such as a two-speed transmission. The first one is the Launch gear while the second offers enhanced efficiency for cruising. The rear-wheel steering is optional.

e-Tron

The 2022 Audi e-Tron GT employs two motors that collectively generate 469 hp. Using the over-boost function in Launch mode, drivers can unleash the motors' true potential, creating 522 hp, enabling it to hit 60 mph in only 2.5 seconds. The maximum torque it can produce is 464 pound-feet.

Without engaging the over-boost function, the GT is still swift; the zero-to-60-mph time is 3.9 seconds while the top speed is limited to 152 mph. Those looking for an extra oomph would love the power of 637-hp RS e-Tron GT, offering standard rear-wheel steering.

Transferring power to the road are standard 20-inch five-spoke alloy wheels with gray accents and 20- or 21-inch aero five-spoke wheels for the RS. The performance sedan has an active rear spoiler to improve the downforce, aiding it to secure a stated 0.24 drag coefficient.

e-Tron

Audi says the new e-Tron offers 238 miles of range, though not EPA confirmed. Moreover, the GT's 800-volt electrical design backs DC fast-charging up to 270 kW. With this, we can charge 80 percent of the battery in less than 23 minutes.

The base Quattro Premium Plus starts at $100,945, the Quattro Prestige costs $108,145, and the RS e-Tron GT sets you back by $140,945. The 2022 Audi e-Tron GT should be here in summer.
