Lexus IS 500 Launch Edition Comes With New Shade, Incognito

The 2022 Lexus IS500 will be available for North American customers this fall. To make the V8 powered F Sport performance sedan more lucrative for buyers, the company decided to offer Launch Edition featuring a unique color combination, distinct wheels, and some interior changes. The IS500 F Sport Performance Launch Edition will be limited to only 500 units.
Lexus calls the new color combo ‘Incognito’, boasting a light gray shade with a bit of gloss for the finish to give it a stealthy appearance. In addition, it will sport black 19-inch BBS wheels available in the Dynamic Handling package. They are four pounds lighter than the standard 19-inch wheels available for the sedan.
Inside the IS 500 F Sport Performance Launch Edition, we find two-tone black and gray Ultrasuede upholstery wrapped on the seats, door panels, and center console. The heated steering wheel gets bits of silver ash wood trim. Furthermore, the instrument panel shows the Launch Edition animation as the driver ignites the engine.
No changes available in the power department, so it retains the same naturally aspirated 5.0L V8 churning out 472 horsepower (352 kilowatts) at 7,100 rpm and 395 pound-feet (535.5 Newton-meters) of torque at 4,800 revs. The Launch Edition, as well as the other variants, use an eight-speed automatic transmission to power the rear wheels.
The company estimates it will be able to hit 60 miles per hour (96 kilometers per hour) in 4.5 seconds and deliver 24 miles per gallon highway fuel economy.
The IS 500 F Sport Performance comes equipped with an adaptive suspension and Torsen limited-slip differential. It also features a Yamaha-supplied rear performance damper that increases structural rigidity.
Furthermore, the brakes are 14.0 inches at the front and 12.7 inches at the back rather than 13.1 inches and 11.7 inches available for the IS 350 F Sport. Lexus also ensures passenger’s security through the brand’s Safety System+ 2.5.
