Watch 2022 Kia Carnival Debut On February 23 Via Livestream
Kia has decided to replace the Sedona nameplate in America with the international moniker, the Carnival. Of note, Kia has been using the Sedona name for its minivan in the U.S. for the last three generations. The 2022 Kia Carnival has already shown its face to the world. However, the U.S. variant could be a little different.
To know the changes we have to wait till February 23, when Kia reveals it for the U.S. markets via Livestream. What we have got from a teaser image is it having quite the same design. The murky grille proposes that the 2022 Kia Carnival might feature the company’s latest logo.
According to the EPA website, the new Carnival for the U.S. will give customers only one powertrain choice. It will be a 3.5-liter V-6 mating to an eight-speed automatic replacing the 3.3-liter V-6 available in the outgoing model. The bigger mill will obviously offer more power, without hitting the fuel economy figures. In fact, the new engine will deliver a better economy at 22 mpg combined, which is one mpg more than the previous model.
The 2022 Kia Carnival has a lot more to like with a more up-to-date interior and a more prominent infotainment display. We might be lucky to have second-row lounge seats in the U.S.; however, we cannot expect the ultra-luxurious features offered for the Korean-bound Carnival. That one even has curtains and an air purifier.
More details will emerge when the 2022 Kia Carnival breaks cover next week. The minivan will be available for customers in the U.S. before the end of this year.
