2021 Buick Envision Gets A Complete New Design, More Equipment For $32,995
While Buick just facelifted the 2022 Enclave, they decided to completely redesign the Envision for 2021 model year. The 2021 Buick Envision is on its way to dealerships in the U.S. The surprising thing is that the automaker decreased the compact crossover’s price by $1,700 while updating its looks inside and out, and adding a new powertrain.
The new Envision will compete against the likes of Acura RDX, Infiniti QX50, and Lincoln Corsair in the American markets. While all these vehicles start over $35,000, the Envision costs $32,995.
The 2021 Buick Envision, developed in China, features a standard front-wheel-drive with an available AWD. Under the hood is a turbocharged 2.0-liter inline-four pumping out 228 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. The mill mates to a nine-speed automatic transmission. Worth noting here, this mill is less potent than the 2.0-liter inline-four available in the last model, which is good for 252 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque. However, it is better than the 193-hp 2.5-liter inline-four that came as a standard option in the 2020 model.
Step inside, and the first thing we notice is a sleeker-looking cabin to complement the exterior design. The standard 8.0-inch infotainment display, which is the same size as was in 2020 model, now comes with a choice of 10.2-inch display. Expect wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay as standard options, while wireless charging, heated front seats, and a heated steering wheel are elective facilities.
Buick has reduced the number of trim levels for the new model to three only. Customers will have to choose from Preferred, Essence, and Avenir. The mid-level Essence costs $36,995 while the Avenir will set you back at least $41,395.
Those choosing the range-topping Avenir will get more goodies of course, such as diamond-quilted leather seats, 20-inch wheels, heated rear seats, and navigation. For improved safety, Buick offers a Driver Confidence Plus package.
The suite offers plenty of safety features encompassing automated emergency braking, lane-keeping assist with lane-departure warning, automatic high-beams, rear cross-traffic alert. However, adaptive cruise control, a head-up display, and improved park assist are elective systems.
