Porsche commemorates the 25th birthday of its Boxster mid-engine sports car by introducing an exclusive model sourced from the 2021 Porsche 718 Boxster GTS 4.0. It means the car will feature a naturally-aspirated 4.0-liter flat-six engine. Named the 2021 Porsche 718 Boxster 25, the automaker will produce only 1,250 units with design cues taken from the Boxster concept vehicle unveiled at the 1993 Detroit Auto Show.

The Boxster 25 would boast copper trim on the front and side air intakes, badging, and wheels. Porsche is offering GT Silver, Jet Black, and Carrera White paint options along with five-spoke copper 20-inch wheels.

Regarding the powertrain, the 2021 Porsche 718 Boxster 25 will be powered by a naturally aspirated 4.0-liter flat-six generating 394 horsepower and 309 lb-ft of torque. The power goes to the rear wheels via a standard six-speed manual transmission. A seven-speed dual-clutch transmission is optional.

The manual variant should take around 3.8 seconds to hit 60 mph speed and complete a quarter-mile in 12.0 seconds. The automaker says the car can gain a maximum speed of 182 mph.

The Boxster 25 features the Sport Chrono package, including launch control and a steering-wheel-mounted drive mode selector. It also has standard adaptive dampers and a limited-slip differential.

The 2021 Boxster 25 wears a starting price tag of $99,950, which is $9,700 extra than the car it is based on. Expect the deliveries to start in the spring.
