We all know China is the world’s biggest automotive market but some of you might not be familiar that Hyundai’s luxury division, Genesis is not part of the Chinese industry. Pretty surprising right? However, that’s going to change, as Genesis has landed in China and they did it in style.

On April 2, Genesis formally launched in China with an unbelievable 3,000-drone light show. The drones lit up the Shanghai sky displaying Genesis of Genesis, and later created stunning spirals and a massive hand. The company also sketched its two important models, the G80 and the GV80 along with the winged Genesis emblem featuring red stretched wings that "waved" in the replicated signal. If all this was done to get luxury car shopper’s attention, we would say the luxury carmaker has accomplished it.

"Launching the brand in China represents a significant, perhaps the most important, new chapter in our brand's history," stated Markus Henne, CEO Of Genesis Motor China. "Genesis will focus on brand building in the early stage. We will continue to reveal more highlights of how we plan to appeal to our Chinese audience. I am confident to deliver this promise and invite everyone to be a part of this journey."

Genesis’ entry into the Chinese market focuses on two of its models in the start i.e. the G80 sedan and the GB80 SUV. Showcasing only two of these is part of the automaker’s marketing plan for Chinese customers. They want to describe Genesis as a lifestyle brand and the company has clearly conveyed it through words, ‘Genesis of you’.

"We are excited to showcase our globally-recognized products, Genesis G80 and Genesis GV80, known for the highest quality and distinctive design," stated Henne. "We are driven by a purpose to design authentic relationships with Chinese consumers. This is our promise and our differentiator in China to deliver meaningful and stress-free experiences. To do that, we will be implementing an all-new business model that will bring our commitments to life."
