Honda Takes The Wraps Off the 2022 Civic Sedan

Honda first showed us the eleventh-generation Civic prototype last year in November and now the company has released a sole teaser image of the production model. A gallery of images, as well as the technical details, will come out on April 28.

Seeing the image, which is essentially the Touring trim level, we can safely say, it almost matches the Civic prototype except for a few changes. We are not complaining; the sedan definitely looks more stylish than before.

Unfortunately, Honda didn’t reveal the interior pictures of the 2022 Civic neither they gave any hint of the engines. We believe the new-generation Civic will have the same engine options as before, so expect a naturally aspirated 2.0-liter inline-four as the standard mill and a brawnier turbocharged 1.5-litre inline-four for customers looking for extra oomph.

Honda might not offer the manual transmission for the sedan. However, it will be available for the higher-performance Si and Type R models.

The 2022 Civic sedan should hit the roads in America and some other parts of the world in summer. The Civic hatchback should arrive a few months later, but coupe fans will be disappointed. The automaker has decided to ditch the model for 2022.

While Honda did not reveal the pricing details yet, we believe it will sport a starting price a little higher than the outgoing model, which costs $22,245 at least. The sedan will be accessible in four variants namely LX, EX, Sport, and Touring. The production will happen at a factory in Indiana instead of the Swindon plant in the UK.
