Watch Genesis Electric Coupe Concept Reveal on March 31

When Genesis showed us the Essentia concept at the 2018 New York Auto Show, it stunned everyone. Like others, we also started dreaming to see it in production form. Genesis was kind enough to reveal that they want to make the concept a reality. However, the automaker didn’t say a word about it, after that until recently by showing us a teaser video of what may be the Essentia or something similar. The video tells the electric coupe will debut this week.

From the video, we can clearly see a sleek coupe concept reminiscent of Essentia styling. The short teaser gives us a few glimpses of the exterior and interior, to have some idea of the coupe. It appears to feature a long hood boasting the company’s grille and Genesis’ bisected lighting design at the front and rear. We can also find a little spoiler made of curvy sheet metal.

The interior visuals reveal a modish door panel and shiny gear-selector dial that flicks in the center console. Remembering the Essentia, it also had a similarly-styled cabin.

Unfortunately, we do not know much beyond that, though we do not need to guess anymore. The automaker will show the electric coupe at an event on March 31 in Korea.

Genesis showed the Essentia in April last year during an event previewing the brand’s new models, intending to double its lineup by September 2021. While this new model is still a concept, Genesis normally sticks to their concepts when turning them into production cars. If the electric coupe is really the Essentia, it will be available in limited numbers wearing a steep price tag.
